50 or 60 years a customer I've been a irregular customer at Trolls since my dad used to take us on an annual fishing trip to horseshoe bay. Best fish and chips in The Bay.

Seriously, the BEST fish and chips. We had a great table outside, we were able to introduce a few of our "virgin" friends to their first poutine - which was very good here. I went for the halibut and chips - which was perfectly fried and crispy, hot and flaky on the inside.You can't beat the view, or the fish!

Great service & good food The service was great enough to get 5 stars. They offered us a booster seat for our kid without us having o ask and offered to put fries on quickly for him if he couldn't manage the 30 minute wait for food. To me, that offers is above and beyond accommodating for families (we don't expect it, but we certainly appreciated it). Our young toddler was getting loud and we were afraid we would disturb others from enjoying their meal so we asked if we could get a box to pack our food to go. They didn't seem bothered by the request at all and were so quick to get us our bill and boxes. We took the food to the park across the way and everyone was happy. Honestly, the food was just good (not fabulous or anything) but the staff and menu are sure to please most everyone. We'd highly recommend it to families!

Great family friendly meal We had a delicious meal there. Staff were friendly and attentive. Great location. As a Celiac I couldn't enjoy the fries but they did have gluten free options available.

Courteous & Good Food Always busy ~ Sunday afternoon we waited 10 minutes for seating.Staff very courteous, food was very good. good fish and chips I would say this is a standard restaurant which remains constant over the years. If you can try to sit by the window for the view.This time I liked the oyster burger and the white of the house is very nice as well.

We have to have fish and chips at Troll's! When we visit Vancouver, we often take a drive to Horseshoe Bay to enjoy fish and chips at Troll's. It has become a family tradition and never disappoints!

Delicious and Hearty Lunch. This was a low key outing to Horseshoe Bay after exploring between Vancouver and Burnaby! Our lunch stop was impromptu and left us feeling well taken care of. The chowder was fabulous, hot and hearty. The fish and chips were good and wonderful with French fries. Solid food and service!

Fun Lunch Spot in Horseshoe Bay We stopped at Troll's while on an all day private tour of the Vancouver area. The restaurant overlooks the water and the ferry terminal. We had a late lunch and it was still packed, indication how popular it is. They are world famous, reportedly, for their fish and chips. They serve this with a choice of various types of fish, unlike many other restaurants. The dining room is very tight, but not overly loud. The wait staff is great and helpful. The menu offers something for everyone. One in our party has a serious seafood allergy, and she found several options on the menu.I enjoyed the seafood sandwich is has crab and shrimp with lettuce, and tomato. I had never had this before, and it was great.Overall, I would most definitely visit Troll's again and recommend this fun spot if you're near Horseshoe Bay.

Fantastic food and service My partner has been talking about this place for ages and after a long tough day, this place was a perfect spot to end things off in. The food was amazing, of course we had halibut and chips and our server took great care of us and everyone around us though she was obviously busy. Would definitely come back and recommend. Some of the best fish and chips in the city.

Fish and Chips done right ! This establishment has been here forever, a favourite of mine as a child, teen and adult. Best fish and chips around, Batter is crisp, fish is fresh, trollslaw delightful and tartar sauce just right.The restuarant is unassuming and judy plain good eating!

You want a quick good mea this is it. One of the fastest serves breakfast I have ever known. Friendly service and a testament to a well run family run business.

Great food, Great staff:) We went in to eat on June 1,2016 while waiting for our ferry. Service was excellent, staff was excellent. Nice friendly waitress.........all the staff busy cleaning between customers. Ordered burgers...........EXCELLENT food.........thanks for a nice experience!!!

Still here after all these years. First remember coming here with my parents in the 60's...and into the 70's, well here today in 2016 and still serving up great fish and chips. All kinds of dishes for that matter.

Excellent food! The food was excellent and the view to the Harbour was spectacular! Went with my family for lunch and would definitely recommend!

Breakfast stop Myself and my partner stopped at horseshoe bay to have a quick look about. Feeling a bit peckish we went to trolls for a bite. We found it pretty relaxed and chilled due to the time of day, we were greeted straight away with a pleasant smile and shown to our seats (outside as it was a lovely morning). I ordered the pancakes with syrup (I don't normally eat pancakes, but when in Rome!), and we're quite large with a fluffy texture which I found were great, in fact I couldn't finish them. We had chatted with whom I presume was the owner/part owner as this is a family business and was an absolute delight to speak to. I would def go back again!

Came here from an accidental bus ride to Horseshoe Bay. Me and my aunt were starving and so we arrived at Troll's.The best part about this place is that if you want to order take out, there is a booth right beside the restaurant so the food goes out faster. But only some menu items are available for take out.I ordered the Cod and Chips, while my aunt ordered Halibut and Chips. Food took about 15 minutes, a good wait time since many people were at the take out stand. The fish was cooked perfectly and the fries were nicely golden brown. Only thing about the fish is the batter on the outside was a little burnt. Overall great taste and good service!

Great restaurant with a fabulous view Very busy restaurant with a nice patio overlooking the bay, BC ferries, the park and boats in the harbour. We couldn't get a table outside, but the restaurant is full of skylights, making any table bright & sunny. We were lucky to be right beside the windows. Ordered the cod fish & chips & crab cakes. Fish had a light crust, very hot & fresh, real homemade fries! Crab cakes were nicely seasoned & delicious. Reasonably priced and every platter that passed by looked fabulous.

Waiting for the ferry @ 3pm decided we had time to stroll the town of Horseshoe Bay We enjoyed the warmest day of the year @ Trolls in Horseshoe Bay while waiting for the BC Ferry back home to the island.We weren't disappointed in our entree of Cod and Chips/Original menu item. Huge piece so only needed the one piece entree. Tender and crispy, fries were perfect!Coleslaw and tartar sauce very nice.Wasn't too busy but can be!!!... Make sure if you take the time to go into town that you get back for the ferry - at least half an hour before sailing because if you aren't there they don't wait for you...saw several empty vehicles.Horseshoe Bay town though worth a visit - lots of shopping and other places to eat...Trolls is our favourite - great service, many other menu choices - option to eat in or on outside - inside bright though and comfortable. Thoroughly enjoyed our meal. Reasonable pricing and for anyone...relaxed and casual.Enjoy!
